Our 2011 Conference

Conference 2011

The NEVMHN held their first networking conference on Tuesday 19th October 2011. The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders from across the breadth of agencies concerned with the mental health of veterans in North Essex. These include those members listed above plus representatives of the police, private sector, GPs, local homeless organisations, CAB etc.

The aims of the event were to:

  • Raise awareness about the mental health issues for veterans.
  • Educate stakeholders about the nature of effective support.
  • Develop a clearer understanding between agencies about how they can work more effectively together to benefit the mental health of veterans.
  • Define and refine the care pathway for veterans in North Essex.
  • Showcase existing good practice in the area of veteran’s mental health.

The event, organised by Enable East and hosted by The Weston Homes Community stadium, the home of Colchester United was a great success.
